BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has secured three lease agreements for leisure, dining and tourism developments in Camp John Hay, Baguio City, and Clark, Pampanga, with private-sector partners committing at least 85 million pesos in investments.
Two of the agreements cover developments in Camp John Hay, including a Sizzling Plate restaurant and an educational family adventure park, while the third involves a leisure and recreational project in Clark.
Under the Camp John Hay agreement, Anrey Inc. committed to invest at least 15 million pesos within one year from the signing of its lease to develop a 500-square-meter property for a Sizzling Plate restaurant.
The Baguio-based restaurant brand, which BCDA said has served the local dining market for 47 years, plans to bring its dining offerings to the Camp John Hay destination.
In a separate agreement, Zoo and Theme Park Services Inc. committed to invest at least 20 million pesos within 10 years from contract signing to develop an integrated educational family adventure park in Camp John Hay.
The proposed development will include a nature adventure park and other facilities under its approved development plan.
The company also committed to incorporating green development measures aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, water and electricity consumption, and waste generation.
The third agreement covers a 15-year lease with Grace Farm Nature Resort Corp. for a leisure and recreational development in Clark, Pampanga.
Grace Farm committed to invest at least 50 million pesos in the project’s development, construction, improvement and enhancement during the initial lease period.
BCDA President and Chief Executive Officer Joshua M. Bingcang said the agreements would open more opportunities for private-sector investment in BCDA properties and support the development of facilities for visitors, businesses and surrounding communities.
The projects are expected to expand leisure and tourism offerings while creating potential employment and business opportunities in the host areas, he said.
Grace Farm director Daniel S. Chung said the company intended to develop and manage the resort in line with BCDA’s standards and vision, while providing a place for visitors to enjoy nature and recreation.
Zoo and Theme Park Services business development head Ren Christopher A. Siccion said the proposed adventure park aimed to contribute to tourism growth in Camp John Hay and create opportunities for the surrounding community.
The three agreements represent at least 85 million pesos in stated investment commitments, based on the amounts disclosed by BCDA.
The commitments are subject to their respective development timelines and contractual terms.
BCDA said the lease arrangements form part of its efforts to maximize the use of government properties by bringing in private-sector partners and encouraging economic activity in areas under its management.
