BCDA launches four-leg Ecozones Color Run Fest across ecozones
MANILA, July 8, 2026 — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) on Wednesday announced the launch of the inaugural 2026 BCDA Ecozones Color Run Fest, a four-leg race series that aims to promote its economic zones as destinations for tourism, recreation and investment while encouraging healthier lifestyles.
The race series, organized in partnership with Smoke10 Events Management, will be staged in four BCDA-managed destinations from July to December.
According to BCDA, the opening leg will be held on July 18 at Morong Discovery Park in Bataan, followed by Camp John Hay in Baguio on Aug. 8, the Poro Point Freeport Zone in La Union on Oct. 24, and the finale at New Clark City in Tarlac on Dec. 5.
Participants may join the 10-kilometer, 5-kilometer or 3-kilometer categories.
Registration fees are set at P1,299 for the 10K race, which includes a race bib, singlet, finisher shirt, finisher medal and towel; P899 for the 5K category; and P799 for the 3K category, with the latter two including a race bib, singlet, medal and towel.
Gun starts are scheduled at 5:30 a.m. for the 10K, 6:00 a.m. for the 5K and 6:30 a.m. for the 3K.
BCDA President and Chief Executive Officer Joshua M. Bingcang said the initiative is intended to introduce more Filipinos to the agency’s economic zones beyond their role as investment hubs.
“Our ecozones are designed to be places where people can work, invest, compete, and enjoy life. Through the BCDA Ecozones Color Run Fest, we are opening these destinations to more Filipinos and inviting them to experience the vibrant communities we are building,” Bingcang said in a statement.
He added that the race series supports BCDA’s vision of developing economic zones that combine economic activity with recreation, tourism and community life.
Online registration is available through the event’s official race portal, while onsite registration is scheduled every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. at Decathlon SM Clark, according to BCDA.
The government-owned and controlled corporation said the event forms part of its broader efforts to make its developments more accessible to the public while promoting active lifestyles and local tourism.
