PMA completes 2026 entrance exam with 25,431 examinees

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Military Academy has completed its 2026 entrance examination, with 25,431 applicants taking the test at 48 testing centers nationwide, the academy said.

The number of examinees was about 3% higher than the previous year, according to the academy, which conducted the Philippine Military Academy Entrance Examination (PMAEE) in several legs from July 25 to Sept. 6.

The nationwide rollout was intended to give prospective cadets in different regions greater access to the examination, the PMA said.

The academy credited Armed Forces of the Philippines units, local government units, educational institutions, government agencies, partner organizations and other stakeholders for supporting the deployment and logistical requirements of its proctor teams.

It also thanked media and community partners for helping publicize examination schedules, testing-center information and other announcements for applicants.

The completion of the written examination marks the start of the next stages of the academy’s selection process.

The PMA said results of the written examination are tentatively expected by the end of September 2026 and will be released through the academy’s official communication platforms.

Applicants who pass the written examination will proceed to succeeding screening stages, including physical, medical and neuropsychiatric examinations, before final qualification for admission.

Those who eventually qualify are expected to form PMA Class 2031, which the academy said is tentatively scheduled to convene in May 2027.

The academy said the entrance examination forms part of its continuing nationwide effort to identify young Filipinos with the potential, character and commitment to meet the demands of cadetship and pursue military service.
