K-Culture lights up Baguio for Korea Festival 2026

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Korean culture will take center stage in the Summer Capital this May as the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) brings its flagship Korea Festival 2026 to SM City Baguio.

The two-day event, set for May 9–10 from noon to 8 p.m., will feature immersive booths, interactive cultural experiences, and live performances blending Korean and Filipino artistry.

First launched in 2022, the Korea Festival has grown into one of KCC’s signature programs, traveling across the Philippines to highlight both traditional and modern aspects of Korean culture.

This year’s stop in Baguio underscores the city’s reputation as a UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Arts and a Hall of Fame awardee in the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Awards.

Festival-goers can expect hands-on activities such as digital painting, Hangeul pop art, and the popular Hanbok-wearing experience.

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts will also host an ASEAN Corner, showcasing Southeast Asian crafts, storybooks, and traditional games in line with the Philippines’ ASEAN chairship this year.

Evenings will be capped by stage performances, including K-pop cover dance showcases, traditional Korean music by the Suwon Gugak Association, martial arts demonstrations by the Korea Taekwondo Association, and cultural presentations from Baguio-based performers.

The festival is organized in partnership with the NCCA, Korea Tourism Organization Manila Office, Korea Copyright Protection Agency, Korea Creative Content Agency, Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation, and SM City Baguio.

Admission is free and open to the public.
