BAGUIO CITY — Four people were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Baguio City and Kalinga on Sept. 13 and 16, including a woman identified by police as the city’s No. 10 most wanted person, the Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) said.
Two of the arrests took place in Baguio City, while two others were made in Kalinga, according to separate police reports.
In Baguio, a 26-year-old woman was arrested on Sept. 13 in Barangay SLU-SVP, Bakakeng, while police were serving a warrant of arrest, PRO CAR said.
Police identified her as the No. 10 Most Wanted Person at the city level and as a High Value Individual.
According to police, the warrant was issued in connection with an alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The arrest was carried out by personnel of Police Station 3, the City Drug Enforcement Unit, City Intelligence Unit and City Investigation and Detective Management Unit of the Baguio City Police Office, with the Regional Intelligence Unit 14 and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15.
Three days later, on Sept. 16, police arrested a 26-year-old man in a separate buy-bust operation in Barangay Irisan, Baguio City.
Personnel of Police Station 5, the City Intelligence Unit and City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Baguio City Police Office conducted the operation, PRO CAR said.
Police alleged that the suspect sold a sachet containing 0.3 gram of suspected shabu to an undercover officer posing as a buyer. The substance was assigned a Standard Drug Price of P2,040.
The suspect was classified by authorities as a Street-Level Individual.
Two arrested in Kalinga
In Kalinga, police reported two separate buy-bust arrests in Tabuk City on Sept. 13 and 16.
On Sept. 13, a 21-year-old man was arrested in Barangay Bulanao Norte after allegedly selling an undercover officer a sachet containing 0.5 gram of suspected shabu.
The operation involved the Tabuk City Police Station, the Kalinga Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company and Provincial Legal Office, together with Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 and the Regional Intelligence Division of PRO CAR.
The suspect was identified by police as a Street-Level Individual. The seized substance had a stated Standard Drug Price of P3,400, according to the police report.
On Sept. 16, another 26-year-old man was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dagupan West, Tabuk City.
Police said the suspect sold an undercover officer a sachet containing 0.75 gram of suspected shabu. The substance had a stated Standard Drug Price of P5,100.
The operation involved the Tabuk City Police Station, the Kalinga Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Legal Office, along with the PRO CAR Regional Intelligence Division and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15.
The suspect was also classified as a Street-Level Individual.
PRO CAR said the operations were part of its continuing campaign against illegal drugs and its efforts to strengthen coordination among law-enforcement units in the Cordillera region.
Police also urged the public to report suspicious activities linked to illegal drugs.
