BAGUIO CITY — Police arrested a 26-year-old man during an alleged drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Cypress, Irisan, Baguio City, authorities said.

The suspect, whom police classified as a Street Level Individual, was arrested on Sept. 1 after allegedly selling one sachet of suspected methamphetamine, locally known as shabu, to an undercover officer, according to a press release issued by the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR).

Police said the suspected illegal drugs weighed about 0.5 gram and had an estimated standard drug price of 3,400 pesos ($58).

The suspect and the seized evidence were taken to Baguio City Police Station 9 for documentation and further disposition, the police said.

Authorities said the man could face allegations of violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The operation involved personnel from Police Station 9, the Baguio City Police Office Intelligence Unit and the City Investigation and Detection Management Unit, according to PRO CAR.

PRO CAR said it would continue its intensified campaign against illegal drugs despite adverse weather conditions and urged the public to report suspected illegal activities.
