BAGUIO CITY – In just five days since deploying speed guns on June 14, the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) has apprehended 22 motorists for violating City Ordinance No. 18, Series of 2019, also known as the Speed Limit Ordinance.

This swift enforcement marks a significant move in BCPO’s intensified efforts to curb overspeeding across various road classifications in the city.

With the aid of speed guns, traffic personnel can now monitor vehicle speeds more accurately, ensuring greater accountability on the road.

PCOL Ruel D. Tagel, City Director of BCPO, emphasized that this initiative is part of a long-term strategy to protect all road users and reinforce Baguio’s status as a pedestrian-friendly city.

“The safety of our community remains our top priority. Discipline behind the wheel leads to fewer accidents and safer streets for everyone,” he said.

Motorists are warned to adhere strictly to speed regulations or face legal consequences, as regular monitoring and enforcement operations will continue.

The BCPO also urges all drivers to practice responsible and defensive driving at all times.
