LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR), backed by the Police Regional Office-CAR, led the ceremonial destruction of confiscated illegal drugs worth ₱7.43 million at Camp Major Bado Dangwa’s Parade Ground on March 31.
Regional Director Martin R. Francia of PDEA-CAR spearheaded the activity alongside PBGEN Julio S. Lizardo, Deputy Regional Director for Administration, and PCOL Ledon D. Monte, Deputy Regional Director for Operations of PRO-CAR. Local officials, civil society representatives, court officers, and media members witnessed the event.
As the highlight, Francia, Lizardo, and Monte simultaneously set fire to the seized marijuana using torches, marking its official destruction.
The drugs included 39,177 grams of marijuana seized in Kapangan, 2,889 grams confiscated in La Trinidad, and 19,871 grams recovered in Tublay during separate buy-bust operations in February and March.
Francia thanked PRO-CAR for its continued support and coordination, stressing that transparency and accountability remain central to the government’s intensified anti-drug campaign.
The destruction underscored law enforcement’s commitment to ensuring the complete disposal of illegal drugs in the Cordillera region.
