BAGUIO CITY — The John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) said it received three environmental awards during the 9th Environmental Summit in Baguio City and renewed its commitment to air quality monitoring through a partnership agreement aimed at supporting environmental protection initiatives.

According to JHMC, the government-owned corporation was recognized during the June 30 summit, themed “Binnadang ti Umili: Cordillera Shared Eco-Governance,” for its environmental programs, sustainable practices and efforts to expand green initiatives beyond the boundaries of Camp John Hay.

The corporation said it received the BADANG Award (Best Adherence to Discipline for Advancing National Green-Governance), the Excellence in Air Quality Monitoring and Management Award, and the Environmental IEC Leadership Award.

JHMC President and Chief Executive Officer Manjit Singh Reandi, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Jane Theresa Tabalingcos, and Environment Manager Editha Mejia accepted the awards during the ceremony, the corporation said.

The corporation also signed a renewed Memorandum of Agreement under the Adopt-an-Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station Program, extending its participation in monitoring ambient air quality in and around Camp John Hay.

JHMC said the renewed partnership reinforces its role in supporting cleaner air and promoting environmental sustainability for visitors, residents and other stakeholders.

In a statement, the corporation thanked its employees and partner organizations for contributing to what it described as continued progress in green governance and sustainable development.
