BAGUIO CITY -The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) recently achieved significant breakthroughs in their anti-drug operations with the arrest of two top wanted individuals in separate manhunt efforts on November 4 and 5, 2024.
In a successful manhunt operation on November 4, operatives from BCPO – Police Station 7 apprehended a 28-year-old male, alias “Boy,” in Lower General Luna, Baguio City.
Reports submitted to BCPO City Director, PCOL Ruel D. Tagel, indicate that the suspect is a native of San Juan, Iloilo City.
He ranks among the Top Most Wanted Persons in Western Visayas, placing as the top 8 at the regional and city levels, and top 3 at Station 4 in Iloilo City.
The suspect faces charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, including selling and possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Coordination is ongoing with Iloilo City Police Station 4 to facilitate his transfer.
Key units involved in the arrest included BCPO’s City Investigation and Detective Management Unit, City Intelligence Unit, as well as units from Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO-CAR) and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15.
The Philippine National Police’s e-Warrant System played a crucial role in the operation, allowing for real-time data access and facilitating the swift apprehension.
In a separate incident on November 5, BCPO’s City Intelligence Unit, in collaboration with Police Station 1, City Drugs Enforcement Unit, and regional intelligence teams, successfully apprehended a 32-year-old female in San Luis Village, Baguio City.
The suspect is a Priority Ten High-Value Individual at the regional level and ranks as the No. 8 Most Wanted Person in Baguio City.
She was arrested on the basis of a warrant for charges related to the sale of dangerous drugs, in violation of RA 9165.
PCOL Tagel commended the dedication and coordination of all units involved, emphasizing the BCPO’s unwavering commitment to eliminating illegal drugs and ensuring the safety of the community.
Through sustained intelligence work, inter-agency cooperation, and the use of advanced systems like the e-Warrant, the BCPO remains steadfast in its pursuit of a drug-free Baguio City.
