BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Rising Filipino recording artist and actor AJ Colico is set to take the stage at Jam Session in Baguio on Aug. 1, joining a multi-generational lineup that organizers say aims to blend established Original Pilipino Music (OPM) acts with emerging talents in an intimate live music experience.
The event, scheduled at the University of Baguio, will feature veteran rock icon Ely Buendia alongside fast-rising singer-songwriter Earl Agustin, musician couple El Manu and Jessy Kang, and fellow iMe Philippines artist Dylan Burton.
For Colico, the performance marks another milestone in a career that has rapidly expanded across music, acting, digital content creation and brand partnerships.
Known for television appearances in “Bad Genius: The Series” and “Mutya ng Section E,” Colico has also built a strong following online as a content creator and influencer under iMe Philippines.
He holds the title of Shopee Live Superstar and was recognized as a TopKlout 10th K-World Influencer Summit Awardee in China, where he represented the Philippines alongside digital creators from around the world.
Ahead of the concert, Colico said he plans to give fans a heartfelt performance.
“I am ready to share my music, buong pusong ibibigay ko sa performance na ito, fresh and sweet,” Colico said during a media interview.
(“I am ready to share my music. I will give this performance wholeheartedly — fresh and sweet.”)
Organizers described the concert as an opportunity for audiences to experience a wide range of musical styles while fostering closer connections between performers and fans through live performances, sing-alongs and interactive activities.
iMe Philippines Country Head Benelyn “Barbs” Emperado said the event was designed to bring together different generations and genres of OPM.
“There will be activities that will make the concert unique and more exciting. It will also be an opportunity for the audience to hear for the first time OPM music that haven’t been released yet, as well as new upcoming artists,” Emperado said during a media engagement on June 20.
According to Emperado, the Baguio event serves as the inaugural edition of a planned series of Jam Sessions that will later expand to other locations.
The concert’s headline act, Buendia, remains one of the most influential figures in Philippine music, while Agustin has gained national attention through his viral hit “Tibok,” which topped the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 chart.
El Manu and Kang are expected to showcase their signature blend of ballads, hip-hop and contemporary Filipino sounds, while Burton and Colico represent a new generation of artists seeking to broaden their reach through live performances.
For Colico, whose career increasingly spans entertainment, music and digital influence, the concert provides an opportunity to strengthen his presence in the live music scene while introducing audiences to his evolving artistry.
Tickets are available through SM Tickets outlets nationwide and online platforms, while SVIP packages are being offered exclusively through Fantopia.
Organizers said fans are encouraged to secure tickets early as demand is expected to increase in the weeks leading up to the event.
