BAGUIO CITY — Members of the Baguio Educators Arts Guild (BEAG), a collective of educator-artists from various schools in Baguio City, joined the Art for Everyone exhibit at SM City Baguio, showcasing original artworks alongside selected pieces by their students.

Among the participating BEAG members were John Dee V. Cayso, Science and MAPEH teacher at Josefa Cariño Elementary School; Greg D. Parrocha, Science and MAPEH teacher at Mabini Elementary School; and BEAG president Ben L. Ebanio Jr., visual arts mentor at the Baguio City School for the Arts.

The guild’s members continue to practice visual arts and music alongside their teaching careers, saying their participation in exhibitions allows students to see that they actively apply the techniques they teach while encouraging creativity beyond the classroom.

Formed in June 2022, BEAG promotes music and visual arts through exhibitions, community art workshops, mural projects across Baguio City and benefit concerts supporting fellow educators and artists facing medical challenges.

The group said participating in exhibitions also demonstrates the conceptual and critical thinking fostered in the classroom while providing members an opportunity to reconnect despite their busy teaching schedules.

BEAG also expressed its gratitude to Pasakalye Group of Artists president Maricar Docyogen and the management of SM City Baguio for providing the opportunity to present the group’s artworks to a wider audience.

The Art for Everyone exhibit opened Sunday at the mall’s atrium with a welcome address from SM City Baguio Mall Manager Arch. Jerico Jordan A. Bernardo, who welcomed participating artists, guests, mallgoers and the public.

Bernardo was joined in the ceremonial ribbon-cutting by Baguio Congressman Mauricio Domogan, Councilor Vladimir Cayabas, Creative Baguio City Council Chair Maria Venus Tan, Baguio Arts Guild President Dianne Mondok, Tam-awan Artist Village President Ja Busacay and Maricar Docyogen.

The exhibition runs until July 10, 2026, inviting visitors to discover local artworks, meet participating artists and celebrate creativity, culture and community.
