BAGUIO CITY – The search for Miss Baguio 2024 is in full swing as twelve stunning candidates were officially presented to the press and media influencers on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

This event marked a significant milestone in the competition, allowing the public to meet the contestants and learn about their personal advocacies.

The candidates, who range in age from 18 to 25, represent various barangays of Baguio City.

Each contender brought her unique charm and cause to the forefront, showcasing the diversity and dedication within the group.

As tradition dictates, the event also included the selection of the “Darling of the Press,” a title awarded to the candidate who receives the most votes from the attending media members.

This accolade is a cherished part of the Miss Baguio search, adding an extra layer of excitement to the proceedings.

The presentation to the press and influencers is a pivotal moment in the Miss Baguio 2024 competition, setting the stage for the upcoming challenges and events that will ultimately lead to the crowning of the new queen.

City Tourism Officer Aloysius “Alec” Mapalo praised the candidates for being talented and exceptionally well-prepared to compete on national and international stages.

“From what we saw and from what we heard from them this evening, I am confident that we can still produce not only one, but more ladies from Baguio City to represent us very well in the national stage of different beauty pageants,” Mapalo stated.

Reflecting on the past winners, Mapalo highlighted the achievements of previous Miss Baguio titleholders.

Genesis Latugat, the 2021 winner, made it to the top 10 of Miss Universe Philippines, while Krishnah Gravidez, Miss Baguio 2022, initially won the Miss Charm PH title but relinquished it to pursue and ultimately win the Miss World PH crown.

Tara Valencia, the 2023 runner-up, went on to win Miss Supranational 2025.

Mapalo stated that the reigning Miss Baguio 2023, Janah Rhyl Lumidao, who may currently be preparing for bigger competitions, will definitely crown the next winner, ensuring the city’s legacy of producing outstanding beauty queens continues.
