LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, May 21  – The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) said it honored PLTGEN Edgar Alan O. Okubo, Deputy Chief PNP for Operations, with retirement rites marking the close of his 36 years of service.

According to a PRO CAR press release, the ceremony at Camp Major Bado Dangwa’s Masigasig Grandstand was presided over by PLTGEN Bernard M. Banac, Acting Deputy Chief PNP for Administration, and attended by PRO CAR officers, personnel, and Okubo’s family, friends, and classmates from the PNPA “Tagapagpatupad” Class of 1992.

Okubo, a proud Cordilleran, was welcomed with gongs and a traditional dance by PRO CAR Cultural Dancers.

He received the Medalya ng Katapatan (Distinguished Service Medal), PNP Special Service Medal, PNP Service Medal, a Command Saber, and a gallery of awards recognizing his decades of service.

His father and children were also honored with Plaques of Appreciation.

In his farewell message, Okubo expressed gratitude to his family, mentors, and colleagues, urging police leaders to guide and mentor junior officers by example.

“True leadership means moving away from the mindset of ‘do what I say, not what I do,’” he said.

The ceremony concluded with the lowering of his personal flag and the retirement of his PNP badge, formally accepted by Banac as a symbol of his departure from service.
