Cops arrest two drug suspects in Kalinga and Mountain Province

CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – In a series of successful anti-illegal drugs operations, the swift and decisive action of PRO-CAR’s police officers led to the apprehension of two drug personalities and the seizure of illegal drugs valued at Php63,988.00 in Kalinga and Mountain Province on June 3, 2024.

In Kalinga, a coordinated effort of the Pinukpuk Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Kalinga Police Provincial Office led to the arrest of a 34-year-old male who attempted to evade the police officers by jumping off a tricycle upon noticing a checkpoint.

The quick response of the operatives resulted in a chase that concluded with the successful apprehension of the suspect in Brgy Junction, Pinukpuk.

Upon searching the suspect, the operatives discovered two sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less (MOL) 9 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php61,200.00 in his possession.

Meanwhile, in Mountain Province, the immediate response of the police officers of Bontoc MPS to a trespassing incident in Brgy Poblacion, Bontoc resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old male, identified as a Street Level Individual, and the confiscation of two sachets of suspected shabu weighing MOL 0.41 grams with an SDP of Php2,788.00 from his possession.

The suspects, along with the seized evidence, were taken to the respective operating units in charge for documentation and proper disposition while charges for violating R.A. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against them.

This accomplishment not only highlights the dedication and skill of law enforcement personnel but also underscores PRO-CAR’s commitment to combating illicit drug trade and ensuring the safety and well-being of communities in the region.
