BAGUIO CITY (Feb. 24, 2026) — The Cordillera Administrative Region – Media Educators on Nutrition (CAR-MENu) reaffirmed its leadership and outlined key initiatives for 2026 during a meeting and reorganization held Tuesday in Baguio City, underscoring the media’s role in advancing accurate and evidence-based nutrition reporting across the region.

The activity, organized through the National Nutrition Council – Cordillera Administrative Region (NNC-CAR), gathered media partners and nutrition advocates at the Orchard Hotel.

Representatives from regional print, broadcast and online outlets — including Herald Express, DZWT, Northern Dispatch, Good Morning Baguio, RPN DZBS Baguio, Cordillera News Agency, Love Radio Baguio, Bilyonaryo News, Bombo Radyo, UNTV, PIA-CAR and DZRH — joined the discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration to promote timely and factual nutrition information.

NNC-CAR Nutrition Officer II Roselyn Cerio presented the region’s nutrition situation, while CAR-MENu Vice President Jonathan Munar outlined the media’s role in advancing nutrition advocacy.

The meeting also featured an overview of CAR-MENu’s mandate, planned 2026 activities and proposed initiatives.

Members agreed that current officers will remain in their posts until the organization’s year-end face-to-face meeting in December 2026 to ensure continuity of programs and coordination.

Among the major initiatives for 2026 is the Nutri-Jingle Video Contest, which will engage public secondary schools across the Cordillera.

The contest aims to encourage adolescents to creatively promote good nutrition practices through music and video production, leveraging youth participation to amplify health messages in their communities.

Organizers said the activity reflects CAR-MENu’s commitment to empowering the media as essential partners in fostering healthier communities throughout the Cordillera Administrative Region.
