MANILA — Banking giant BDO Unibank is encouraging wider adoption of cashless transactions through its BDO Pay platform, highlighting zero-fee services for money transfers, bill payments and QR-based transactions as competition intensifies in the country’s digital payments market.

In a statement, BDO said BDO Pay allows users to send money free of charge to BDO accounts, other banks and e-wallets through InstaPay and PesoNet.

The app also enables free bill payments to more than 2,200 billers, mobile load purchases and QR-enabled transactions, including QRPh merchant payments, QR ATM cash withdrawals and deposits, and money transfers using InstaPay QR.

The bank said the platform is designed to let customers pay directly using linked BDO deposit accounts or credit cards without requiring cash-ins, while also providing access to promotional offers, cashback incentives and rewards point management within a single application.

BDO said the service aims to simplify everyday financial transactions as more Filipinos shift toward digital payment channels.

The bank is also running a customer referral campaign from July 1 to Sept. 30, 2026, under which existing BDO Pay users may receive P100 in cash credits for every successful referral, while new users who register using a referral code receive P50 in cash credits, subject to the promotion’s terms and conditions, according to the bank.

The campaign forms part of BDO’s efforts to expand the app’s user base as financial institutions continue to compete for customers in the growing digital payments sector.

The bank said interested users may download BDO Pay through major mobile application stores.
