BDO Kabayan Facebook Page wins Philippine Quill Merit Award
MANILA — BDO Unibank Inc.’s BDO Kabayan Facebook Page has received an Award of Merit in the Social Media category at the Philippine Quill Awards for the second consecutive year, the bank said in a press release.
The recognition was given for the campaign “Alagang Kabayan: Where Every Kabayan Belongs,” which BDO said was designed to engage overseas Filipinos through financial information, remittance-related updates and content aimed at helping overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) stay connected with their families in the Philippines.
BDO said the campaign forms part of its broader Alagang Kabayan initiative, which seeks to support Filipinos overseas beyond the remittance transaction.
“Every remittance represents hard work, sacrifice, and commitment to family. Through the BDO Kabayan Facebook Page, we aim to provide useful information and a sense of community for Filipinos overseas as they manage their financial responsibilities and work toward their goals,” said Genie T. Gloria, BDO senior vice president and head of remittance.
The bank said the Facebook page provides OFWs with practical financial tips, remittance information and other content intended to help them make informed financial decisions while working abroad.
Digital platforms have become an important source of information for many Filipinos overseas, particularly as they manage financial obligations and maintain connections with relatives in the Philippines.
BDO said the award-winning campaign reflects its continuing effort to build an online community for OFWs where they can access relevant information, learn from shared experiences and remain connected to their families and personal aspirations.
The Philippine Quill recognition marks the second consecutive year that the BDO Kabayan Facebook Page has received an Award of Merit in the Social Media category.
