BDO promotes Pay app for easier credit card management
MANILA — BDO Unibank is promoting its mobile payment platform BDO Pay as a streamlined way for customers to manage their credit cards, offering real-time transaction tracking, security controls and QR-based payments through a single smartphone app.
In a statement, the bank said the payment application allows users to check outstanding balances, monitor transactions, view e-statements and confirm payment due dates instantly, helping cardholders manage their spending without logging into multiple services.
The app also gives users the option to lock and unlock their credit cards directly from their phones, a feature the bank said adds an additional layer of security against unauthorized transactions.
Cardholders can activate new credit cards, access electronic statements and file disputes through the app, reducing the need to contact customer service, the bank said.
Beyond account monitoring, the application also supports various credit card services including requests for card re-delivery, applying for a cash advance personal identification number and checking the status of credit card applications.
Customers can also request supplementary cards through the app.
BDO said the platform supports QR code payments through its “Scan to Pay” feature, allowing users to complete purchases at participating merchants nationwide without presenting a physical credit card.
The system enables direct payments without requiring users to pre-load funds and helps reduce risks such as incorrect transfers or fraudulent cash-ins, according to the bank.
The app also integrates rewards features, allowing users to earn points on eligible credit card purchases linked to BDO Pay.
These points can be converted to cash credits or transferred to loyalty programs such as SMAC and SMAC Prestige.
BDO said the app is available for download on major mobile platforms including Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery.
The bank said the app aims to combine financial management tools with everyday payment features as more consumers shift toward mobile-first banking and digital transactions.
