BAGUIO CITY — Police arrested a 19-year-old male driver involved in a fatal vehicular accident that killed a 45-year-old pedestrian along Loakan Access Road on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, according to a spot report released by the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO).

PMaj. Marcy Grace Marron, BCPO spokesperson, said the suspect is facing a complaint for Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide following the incident that occurred at around 1:18 p.m. in Loakan Proper.

Police investigation showed that a Honda Brio traveling from Barangay Kias toward Purok Ongasan struck the victim as she was crossing the road.

The impact caused an open skull fracture with exposure of brain matter, leading to her instantaneous death. She was declared dead at 1:55 p.m. by Dr. Dandeo F. Halog, City Medical Officer IV.

The case was referred to the duty inquest prosecutor on the same day, but the complainant’s lawyer opted for regular filing to strengthen the case.

The respondent was released from Police Station 4 at around 11:30 p.m.

Marron urged motorists to strictly follow Baguio City’s speed limit ordinance to prevent similar incidents.
