BAGUIO CITY – Four individuals, including a uniformed police officer assigned to the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), were arrested in a buy-bust operation on March 25, 2025, in Barangay Dontogan, Baguio City.

The operation was conducted by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) RO-NCR Northern District Office, PDEA RO-NCR RSET2, PDEA RO-CAR Benguet Provincial Office, and the Philippine National Police (PNP) PRO-CAR RDEU under COPLAN Keystone following extensive intelligence gathering.

Authorities confiscated approximately 20,000 grams of shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱136 million.

Additionally, a firearm, various identification documents, mobile phones, and other pieces of evidence were recovered at the scene.

The arrested individuals will face charges for violating Sections 5 (Selling of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The involvement of an active law enforcement officer in the case underscores the PNP’s ongoing efforts to cleanse its ranks and uphold integrity, the BCPO said in a statement.

The BCPO emphasized its strong stance against illegal activities within the police force and its continued implementation of measures such as Police Information and Continuing Education (PICE), random drug testing, and the certification of non-engagement in illegal activities to reinforce professionalism, public trust, and accountability.

BCPO City Director PCOL Ruel D. Tagel reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity.

“The BCPO will not tolerate illegal activities within our ranks. We remain resolute in our dedication to ensuring that those who violate the law are held accountable. This operation delivers a clear message of our determination to uphold public trust and strengthen the professionalism of our police force,” he said.

The BCPO assured the public of its continued vigilance and commitment to ethical law enforcement practices.
