City launches online tax payment via GCash

BAGUIO CITY — In a move to modernize payment transactions and enhance convenience for taxpayers, the city government has entered into an agreement that will allow residents to pay their taxes and other city dues online through GCash.

The system is expected to provide a more accessible and efficient way for taxpayers to fulfill their obligations without the need for in-person transactions.

City Treasurer Alex Cabarrubias, who signed as a witness to the agreement, emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating that it will greatly benefit those registered under GCash by offering a hassle-free payment option.

He expressed optimism that the system will be operational by next month or at the soonest possible time.

The agreement marks a step forward in the city’s digital transformation efforts, aligning with the broader goal of streamlining government services and making financial transactions more convenient for residents.

By leveraging digital payment platforms like GCash, the city aims to improve efficiency, reduce processing times, and promote a more transparent financial system.

Residents are encouraged to prepare for the transition and take advantage of the new system once it becomes available.

The city government continues to work towards ensuring a seamless implementation to maximize the benefits of this digital payment initiative.
