CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – As Christmas approaches, the spirit of the season intertwines with a heightened commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the Cordillera region.
The Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO Cordillera) has mobilized an extensive force of more than a thousand officers to safeguard the public during the festive period from December 16 to January 6, 2024.
Drawing from data provided by the Regional Operations Division (ROD), a robust deployment of 1,999 PRO Cordillera police officers spans across various provinces and cities within the region.
This significant deployment is aimed at bolstering safety measures, maintaining peace, and providing a sense of security as communities come together to celebrate the holidays.
A core focus of this deployment rests on ensuring the safety of major thoroughfares.
To this end, 887 PRO Cordillera officers are tasked with vigilant road monitoring.
Among these officers are dedicated personnel stationed at terminals across the region, ensuring safe and orderly travel for residents and visitors alike.
In anticipation of bustling areas and congregations, 1,082 officers are strategically positioned in commercial zones, public markets, parks, malls, and places of worship.
This proactive measure aims to create a secure environment for individuals engaging in holiday festivities and gatherings.
In tandem with the deployed PRO Cordillera personnel, an additional 545 Augmented Units and Force multipliers are activated, fortifying security and reinforcing crime prevention strategies throughout the extended holiday period.
Emphasizing a collective responsibility for safety, PRO Cordillera encourages public cooperation by staying vigilant and alert.
They urge individuals to remain mindful while enjoying the array of activities lined up for the Christmas and New Year celebrations, fostering an atmosphere of both festivity and safety.
