PROCOR extends condolences, financial assistance to family of “Egay” victim

BAGUIO CITY — PROCOR Regional Director David K. Peredo, Jr. visited the wake of the 16-year-old boy who tragically lost his life during the onslaught of Super Typhoon Egay, at the La Paz Funeral Homes, Naguilian Road, Baguio City on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

During his visit, PBGen Peredo expressed his deepest condolences to the grieving family and offered prayers for the departed soul.

The Regional Director also provided financial assistance to the victim’s father, aiming to ease the burden of the sudden tragedy.

The unfortunate incident occurred on July 26, 2023, when Typhoon Egay brought havoc to the region.

According to the report submitted by the Marcos Highway Police Station 10 (PS10), the station received a distress call regarding a landslide that had trapped a family of three.

In a swift response to the emergency, the police station immediately deployed personnel to initiate a search and rescue mission.

The brave team worked tirelessly to reach the trapped family despite the challenging conditions posed by the typhoon’s aftermath.

The search and rescue team managed to reach the parents of the 16-year-old boy and successfully extricated them from the debris.

Unfortunately, their son was found unconscious, and despite their best efforts, the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.

The tragic incident has left the community in mourning, but the support and empathy shown by Peredo have brought some comfort to the bereaved family during this difficult time.

The visit serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and solidarity in the face of natural disasters and their devastating consequences.

The government and local authorities continue to work together to address the aftermath of Super Typhoon Egay, providing aid and assistance to affected communities.
