BAGUIO CITY — Everyday life in Baguio City takes on a new perspective as the Baguio Street Photographers group opened its latest exhibition, “Anino’t Sinag,” at 19Hundred Work.space along Session Road, highlighting the enduring power of black-and-white photography to tell stories beyond color.
The exhibition, which opened on June 28, presents around 40 carefully curated framed photographs capturing candid moments, familiar faces and scenes from daily life across the city.
By removing color, the collection places greater emphasis on light, shadow, emotion and composition, inviting viewers to focus on the narratives unfolding within each frame.
Running through July 28, the month-long exhibit offers residents and visitors an opportunity to experience Baguio through the eyes of local street photographers whose work documents the city’s culture, people and changing urban landscape.
Street photography has long served as a visual record of everyday life, preserving fleeting moments that often go unnoticed.
In “Anino’t Sinag” — literally “Shadow and Light” — the photographers use monochrome imagery to underscore contrasts, textures and human expressions that define life in the country’s mountain city.
The exhibition is open to the public at 19Hundred Work.space in Session Road.
