BAGUIO CITY — More than 300 advocates, families, and volunteers filled the halls of SM City Baguio on April 26 for the annual Angel Walk for Autism, a high-profile call for neurodiversity inclusion in the Summer Capital.

Led by the Autism Society Philippines (ASP) – Baguio Chapter, in partnership with SM Supermalls and local NGOs, the event transformed the mall into a vibrant space of support.

The indoor parade, a cornerstone of local advocacy for years, aims to dismantle social barriers while providing a safe, welcoming environment for those on the spectrum.

“The event highlighted the importance of creating safe spaces where persons with autism can thrive and be celebrated,” organizers said in a statement.

Participants marched through the mall’s activity centers to emphasize the need for equal opportunities and community-led empowerment.

SM City Baguio, a long-time partner of the ASP, reiterated its commitment to accessibility and inclusive infrastructure within its commercial spaces.

The strong turnout marks a growing regional trend toward institutionalized support for the autism community, bolstered by private-sector partnerships and local volunteerism.
