BAGUIO CITY — The city government has received 50 desktop computers from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Cordillera Administrative Region, strengthening efforts to expand digital literacy and public access to technology.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong formally accepted the donation Wednesday from DICT-CAR Regional Director Jimmicio S. Daoaten as part of the agency’s Digital Literacy initiative.

The turnover is under the DICT’s Courses for Literacy in Internet and Computer Knowledge, or Project CLICK, a nationwide program aimed at bridging the digital skills gap through training in basic computer use, internet navigation and cyber hygiene.

City officials said the additional equipment will support ongoing community-based learning programs, particularly for residents with limited access to digital tools.

Each unit includes a 21.45-inch LCD monitor, 16 gigabytes of RAM, a 12th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, and runs on Windows 11 Pro (64-bit), enabling faster and more reliable performance for training and public service use.

The city government said the partnership with DICT reinforces its push to build a more digitally inclusive community, equipping residents with essential skills amid increasing reliance on online platforms for education, employment and government services.

Project CLICK continues to roll out across regions, targeting underserved communities to improve digital readiness and promote safe, responsible internet use.
