BAGUIO CITY — The 30th edition of the Panagbenga, Baguio’s famed flower festival, was formally launched on Monday at the City Hall grounds during the regular flag-raising ceremony.

The month-long festival, which begins February 1, draws thousands of visitors annually and is among the Philippines’ most well-attended events.

This year’s theme, “Blooming Without End,” celebrates the festival’s sustained growth over the past three decades.

Members of the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation, Inc. (BFFFI) Board of Trustees joined city officials and employees for the unveiling of the official festival theme and calendar of activities.

The festival’s main attractions, the Grand Street Dance Parade and the Grand Floral Float Parade, are scheduled for Feb. 28 and March 1, respectively.

Festivities will open with the Grand Opening Day Parade on Feb. 1 and continue through March 8, culminating in awarding ceremonies and a grand fireworks display.

Panagbenga remains the only Philippine festival previously included in the elite roster of the International Festivals and Events Association.

Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong inspired attendees with a heartfelt message at the launch.

Rep. Mauricio G. Domogan, BFFFI Chairman, then officially opened the festival, signaling the start of Baguio’s month-long floral celebration.

The festival showcases the city’s rich floral heritage and continues to be a major tourism and economic driver for Baguio.
