BAGUIO CITY — ACMobility, the electric mobility arm of Ayala Group, has partnered with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) to roll out new electric vehicle charging hubs in Camp John Hay, marking a major step in expanding EV infrastructure in northern Luzon.

Eight new charging points have been installed across three locations — Garden Wing, Public Parking Area, and the Golf Club — including Baguio City’s only DC fast charger to date.

The new facilities add to the existing charging station at the Camp John Hay Technohub, with more AC and DC units scheduled to go online in the coming months.

The Garden Wing site features a 60kW DC fast charger capable of powering an EV in as fast as 30 minutes, along with two 22kW AC chargers.

The Public Parking Area is equipped with two 22kW AC chargers, while the Golf Club hub hosts two 7kW chargers.

All stations are integrated into the Evro app for locating chargers, checking availability, and processing payments.

BCDA president and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang said the initiative strengthens Camp John Hay’s push for sustainable, eco-friendly tourism by providing reliable EV charging options for residents and visitors.

ACMobility said the project is part of a broader plan to accelerate the rollout of EV charging points nationwide and help build the “Philippine EV Spine,” a connected network supporting long-distance electric travel across cities and provinces through 2026.

Carla Buencamino, head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility, said expanding partnerships with organizations like BCDA will help make EV charging more accessible, encouraging more Filipinos to shift to cleaner mobility.
