MANILA, Philippines — UnionBank of the Philippines has partnered with GMG Productions to bring Les Misérables: World Tour Spectacular to Manila, marking the bank’s latest push to link customer rewards with major international entertainment events.

The bank served as official sponsor of the musical’s Gala Night at The Theatre at Solaire, which featured Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, West End performer Rachelle Ann Go, and stage actor Red Concepcion. Salonga and Concepcion play the Thénardiers, while Go reprises her role as Fantine.

The concert-format production features 110 Filipino and international performers and presents a reimagined staging of the long-running musical, driven by full orchestral arrangements, large-scale vocals and immersive lighting design.

The show is UnionBank’s 10th collaboration with GMG Productions, following previous partnerships that brought titles such as Hamilton, Miss Saigon and Dear Evan Hansen to local audiences.

The bank said the tie-up forms part of its strategy to extend customer engagement beyond financial services through lifestyle and cultural access.

UnionBank cardholders received exclusive pre-sale access before tickets went on sale to the public in August 2025, along with a 10% discount. The run has since sold out, according to organizers.

“Our partnership with GMG has allowed us to provide our valued customers with memorable experiences through productions that elevate Manila’s entertainment landscape,” UnionBank CEO Ana Delgado said in a statement, adding the bank plans to continue the collaboration.

Les Misérables: World Tour Spectacular runs in Manila until March 1, 2026, and opens UnionBank’s 2026 slate of sponsored productions.

Upcoming shows in the lineup include Jesus Christ Superstar in May and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The New Musical in July.
