Two arrested in Baguio City buy-bust operation

BAGUIO CITY – In a joint operation conducted by the Cordillera Police Regional Office (PROCOR), personnel from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU), and Station 5 Baguio City Police Office successfully apprehended two individuals in a buy-bust operation conducted late Saturday night.

The operation, which took place at approximately 11:55 PM on April 6, 2024 in City Camp Central, Baguio City, led to the arrest of a 25-year-old female, identified as (HVI), and a 34-year-old male, identified as (HVI).

The suspects were residents of West Quirino Hill and City Camp Proper respectively.

During the operation, law enforcement confiscated significant evidence implicating the suspects.

Among the items seized were:

Drug Evidence:

  • One heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing approximately 1 gram with an estimated street value of PhP6,800.00.

Non-Drug Evidence:

  1. One genuine PhP500.00 bill
  2. Seven PhP500.00 boodle money
  3. One black Infinix cellphone Vivo with a transparent casing
  4. One black Infinix HOT301 cellphone with a black casing
  5. One black small coin pouch

The inventory of these pieces of evidence was conducted on-site, in the presence of the suspects and witnesses including Prosecutor Immanuel Awisan and Punong Barangay Raul Karunungan.

Moreover, the operation was documented using two Body Worn Cameras to ensure transparency and accountability.

Both suspects are currently in police custody and will face charges related to the possession and distribution of illegal drugs.
