BAGUIO CITY – A surprise inspection at a store on Upper Session Road by a team from the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), Public Order and Safety Division (POSD), and Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 resulted in the apprehension of 26 individuals violating the city’s smoke-free ordinance.

Among those caught were six minors.

The inspection, carried out in response to numerous complaints received by the POSD, highlights the city’s strict enforcement of its smoke-free policies.

The coordinated effort reflects Baguio City’s ongoing efforts to maintain a healthy and safe environment for all residents and visitors.

The apprehended individuals now face fines and penalties as outlined by the city’s smoke-free ordinance, underscoring the seriousness with which Baguio City enforces public health regulations.
