Sunshine Park reopens with new look, art installation
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Sunshine Park officially reopened on May 21, 2026, following a redevelopment that refreshed the city landmark while retaining its original character, the Baguio City Public Information Office said.
The project, led by the city government, introduced improved pathways, outdoor calisthenics equipment, picnic tables, and a new art installation titled “Language of Photography”, inspired by the principles of the Circular Economy.
Original features such as the stage, ramp, and drop‑off area were preserved.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong and Armin Antonio B. Raquel Santos, board trustee of Melco Resorts (Philippines) Foundation Corporation, joined city officials in the ribbon‑cutting ceremony.
City officials said the redevelopment aims to enhance public spaces for recreation, wellness, and cultural expression, while ensuring accessibility and sustainability.
