SSS names Normita Cruz as Luzon North VP

BAGUIO CITY – The Social Security System (SSS) has appointed Normita M. Cruz as Vice President for the Luzon North 1 Division, effective January 8, 2026, marking a leadership transition in one of the agency’s largest regional jurisdictions.

Cruz, who brings more than 40 years of experience in branch operations, will oversee SSS offices in Laoag, Vigan, Candon, Bangued, Bontoc, La Trinidad, Baguio, Agoo, and San Fernando, La Union. She was previously the Branch Head of SSS Angeles.

SSS officials said Cruz’s extensive frontline and managerial experience is expected to strengthen branch coordination, improve service delivery, and expand access to SSS programs and benefits across Northern Luzon.

The division serves over 700,000 members and more than 33,000 employers.

Cruz replaces Officer-in-Charge Nancy M. Umoso, who led the division for 11 months.

With the leadership change, Umoso will return to her former role as Branch Head III of SSS Baguio Branch.
