The Social Security System (SSS) Luzon North 1 Division announced significant improvements in service delivery and compliance programs for 2025, highlighted by the full digital transformation of all its branches and expanded community outreach initiatives.
Acting Vice President Nancy Umoso said the Division became the first in Luzon to fully digitalize all nine branches, enabling faster transactions, reduced processing times, and wider access to online services.
“With every branch now operating as a Digital Branch, members and employers benefit from faster, more convenient, and more efficient service delivery—whether onsite or online,” Umoso said.
The Division also broadened community access through the E-Center sa Barangay program, establishing seven sites as of October 2025.
These centers assisted 1,208 residents in creating My.SSS accounts, filing claims, and completing online transactions with barangay staff support.
Through the Service on E-Wheels (SOWs) program, SSS deployed 953 mobile service missions across Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Benguet, Mt. Province and Abra, assisting 38,358 individuals in remote areas and workplaces.
On compliance, the Luzon North Legal Department, led by Atty. Blesselda Acosta, conducted 111 Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) operations, issuing 1,191 show cause orders to delinquent employers and securing ₱13.08 million in collected contributions as of October.
The office also released 287 demand letters, collecting an additional ₱2.3 million from 100 employers who settled after receiving notices or facing legal cases.
“Employers who didn’t respond to Billing Letters within 30 days will receive a Demand Letter. If they still don’t comply, the case will be elevated to the court,” Acosta said.
The KaSSSanga Collect Program likewise posted strong results, with 66 partner agencies covering 4,046 Job Order and Contract of Service workers, generating ₱54.62 million in collections.
Umoso said the Division’s 2025 gains reflect its commitment to expanding service accessibility, strengthening legal enforcement, and enhancing social protection for workers across the region.
“The Division remains dedicated to further enhancing its programs and strategies as it continues its mission of delivering accessible, responsive, and inclusive social protection services,” she added.
SSS Luzon North 1 covers the branches of Laoag, Vigan, Candon, Bangued, La Union, Agoo, Baguio, La Trinidad, and Bontoc.
