SM Supermalls wins top Asia-Pacific Stevie honor

MACAO — SM Supermalls was named Organization of the Year at the 2026 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, marking its second time receiving the top regional honor and underscoring its continued push for innovation, sustainability and customer experience across its mall network.

The company, which operates in the Philippines and China, earned a total of 30 Stevie Awards across Gold, Silver and Bronze categories, translating to 52 award points in recognition of its programs in customer engagement, environmental responsibility and community development.

“This is a testament to how we continue to evolve and innovate to deliver a truly maxed-out experience for our customers,” said SM Supermalls Executive Vice President Joaquin L. San Agustin, who accepted the award.

San Agustin dedicated the recognition to customers, tenant partners and employees.

SM Supermalls highlighted its sustainability initiatives, including the SM Green Movement, International Coastal Cleanup 2025, Powered by the Sun and Save Water programs, aimed at strengthening environmental stewardship and climate resilience.

The company also cited its social impact programs such as Mall for All, SM Job Fairs and Movies for the Blind, which focus on accessibility, employment opportunities and inclusive community engagement.

On the cultural front, SM Supermalls continues to integrate arts and creativity into retail spaces through events such as Mindanao Art, the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition and Animezing North, alongside local cultural showcases across its properties.

Youth and family-focused programs, including SM Super Spelling Bee, SM Little Stars and Besties of Joy, were also recognized as part of its push to build stronger community connections through mall-based experiences.

Beyond the Philippines, SM Supermalls said its China portfolio contributed to its regional recognition through localized campaigns in cities including Zibo, Tianjin, Chengdu and Xiamen, blending cultural storytelling, wellness programming and seasonal activations.
