BAGUIO CITY — SM City Baguio is strengthening its push for community wellness as it brings back its SM Active Hub this weekend, following a strong turnout from sports enthusiasts and mallgoers.

The initiative, organized by SM Supermalls, transforms the mall into a dynamic recreational space, offering a mix of accessible sports activities designed to engage both beginners and seasoned participants.

During its recent run, guests explored a diverse lineup that included fencing, archery, pickleball and basketball.

The setup encouraged participation across all skill levels, with designated zones allowing visitors to try new disciplines or sharpen existing abilities.

Precision sports such as fencing and archery drew curiosity from first-time participants, while pickleball and basketball courts became hubs of fast-paced action, attracting active players and spectators alike.

The event atmosphere blended recreation with community interaction, turning the mall into a lively fitness venue.

Organizers said the SM Active Hub reflects a broader effort to promote active lifestyles in everyday spaces, making fitness more approachable for families and individuals.

The next round of activities is scheduled for April 18 and 19.

Fencing and archery will take center stage on the first day, followed by pickleball and basketball on the second day.

The program underscores the evolving role of malls as community centers that go beyond retail, offering spaces for wellness, recreation and shared experiences.
