MANILA, Philippines — Samsung Electronics on Wednesday unveiled its latest midrange smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G and Samsung Galaxy A37 5G, expanding artificial intelligence capabilities to a broader base of users as competition intensifies in the global handset market.

The new Galaxy A series devices introduce enhanced “Awesome Intelligence” features, bringing AI-powered tools such as voice transcription, contextual content selection, and advanced photo editing to more affordable devices.

Samsung said the rollout reflects its strategy to “democratize AI,” integrating smarter features into everyday mobile experiences beyond flagship models.

“Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G will deliver reliable everyday performance … and drive rapid AI expansion,” said TM Roh, who leads the company’s mobile division.

AI features move to the mainstream

Running on One UI 8.5, the devices include AI tools designed to improve productivity and creativity. A built-in voice recorder can now transcribe and translate audio, while AI Select allows users to extract text or move images across apps with simple gestures.

Photo editing also gets an upgrade. Features such as Object Eraser and Best Face aim to refine images automatically, while integration with Google Gemini and Bixby enables more conversational control of apps and settings.

Samsung’s Circle to Search tool, developed with Google, now recognizes multiple objects in a single image, expanding its search capabilities.

Camera, performance upgrades

Both devices feature a 50-megapixel main camera, supported by ultra-wide and macro lenses, alongside improved image processing for better low-light photography.

The A57 offers enhanced image sharpening and faster shutter speeds, while both models incorporate AI-based scene optimization for more balanced portraits and backgrounds.

Samsung said the A57 also delivers upgraded CPU, GPU and AI processing performance, paired with a 5,000mAh battery that can last up to two days on a single charge.

The phones include Super AMOLED displays with slimmer bezels and are rated IP68 for water and dust resistance.

Long-term support, security focus

Samsung is extending software longevity, offering up to six generations of Android and One UI updates, along with six years of security patches.

Security features include Knox Vault, a hardware-based protection system, alongside tools such as Privacy Alerts and a Private Album for securing sensitive media.

Pricing and availability

The devices are now available in Samsung-authorized stores.

In the Philippines, the Galaxy A57 5G is priced at ₱28,990 for 128GB, ₱30,990 for 256GB and ₱37,990 for 512GB.

The Galaxy A37 5G starts at ₱25,990 for 128GB and ₱27,990 for 256GB.
