Rizal MSME showcase opens at SM Baguio
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — SM Supermalls, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is spotlighting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Rizal Province through a curated exhibit at SM City Baguio, running until May 24.
The showcase, branded “Gala to the Max,” features modern fashion, food innovations, pasalubong items, and handcrafted products, underscoring Filipino creativity and entrepreneurship.
Among the highlights is Sassy Creation, a modern Filipiniana brand founded in 2016, which presents hand-painted pieces made from upcycled materials by mothers, artisans, and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) engaged in livelihood programs.
Food innovation takes center stage with Sauce On, owned by Chef Rod and Malou Sioson, whose garlic-based sauces have become bestsellers during the exhibit.
“Napakalaki ng tulong ng DTI sa amin kasi kung saan-saan nila kami pinapadalo. With the help of DTI, nagtutulungan, lumago po ang business,” (DTI has been a tremendous help to us because they bring us to various events and opportunities. With DTI’s support, we were able to work together and grow the business) Chef Sioson said.
Other exhibitors include Buko Coolers, introducing coconut coffee to Baguio shoppers; Fili Deli, offering suman pinipig with latik; Josefina’s Home of the Bicol Laing; Bren Raphael’s Ube Jam and Halaya; Biba Cakes and Pastries supporting cacao farmers; Dimples with peanut-based pasalubong; and ARH Arts and Crafts alongside Kraftista, showcasing wallets, organizers, beads, and charms.
The Rizal OTOP Hub completes the lineup, presenting products under the One Town One Product program, highlighting Antipolo and Rizal’s regional identity.
SM Supermalls said the initiative aims to expand MSMEs’ market reach and strengthen local livelihoods by connecting Filipino-made products with Northern Luzon shoppers.
