PROCOR chief assures thorough investigation into lawyer’s brutal slaying

BANGUED, Abra – PRO Cordillera Regional Director David K. Peredo, Jr. visited the wake of the late Atty. Maria Saniata Liwliwa Gonzales-Alzate in Barangay Zone 2, Bangued, Abra, on the morning of September 19, 2023.

PBGEN Peredo, Jr. conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and assured them that police officers are already conducting a thorough investigation to identify suspects and help shed light on the circumstances surrounding the brutal incident.

According to reports submitted by the Abra Police Provincial Office, the victim was shot inside her car, which was parked outside her house at the said place, by two unidentified males on board a motorcycle on September 14, 2023.

Atty. Alzate was a former president of the Abra chapter of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), a public interest lawyer, and an IBP member commissioner of Bar Discipline since 2015.
