BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Benjie Magalong officially filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for a third term as Baguio City mayor in the upcoming 2025 elections.
The filing took place on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, marked by a series of events that began with a citywide bike ride alongside supporters of his “Good Governance Get Involved” campaign.
Magalong will be running under the banner of the Good Governance Alliance.
The alliance includes a mix of seasoned public servants and fresh faces consisting of both veteran officials and emerging leaders.
His running mates include incumbent Councilor Isabelo “Poppo” Cosalan Jr., who is vying for a congressional seat, and incumbent Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan, who is also seeking a third term in his current role.
Several other notable figures in the Good Governance Alliance are seeking re-election, such as Councilors Jose Molintas, Peter Fianza, and Fred Bagbagen.
New faces joining the slate include SK Federation President John Rhey Mananeng, Punong Barangay Van Dicang of Lower Quirino Hill, Punong Barangay Levy Orcales of South Central Aurora Hill, Atty. Paolo Salvosa, and several others, all of whom are running for positions on the Baguio City Council.
The slate is composed of candidates from multiple parties, including the National People’s Coalition (NPC), Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), Liberal Party (LP), and People’s Reform Party (PRP), as well as independent candidates.
