This initiative underscores the PNP’s core value of “Makatao” (Being Humane), fostering a sense of community and solidarity under the banner of “Bayanihan”.

Through such endeavors, the PNP aims to inspire others to contribute to the welfare and upliftment of society.

According to various sources, achondroplasia is a genetic disorder characterized by abnormal bone growth, resulting in dwarfism.

It is the most common type of short-limbed dwarfism.

This condition is caused by a mutation in the fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3) gene, which regulates bone growth.

The mutation leads to inhibited bone growth in the limbs, resulting in shorter arms and legs, while the trunk usually remains of average size.

Other features of achondroplasia may include a disproportionately large head, prominent forehead, flattened bridge of the nose, and a limited range of motion in the elbows.

Achondroplasia is typically diagnosed shortly after birth based on physical characteristics and can be confirmed through genetic testing.

While there is no cure for achondroplasia, management involves addressing associated health issues and providing supportive care to optimize quality of life.

The outreach activity serves as a beacon of hope, showcasing the inherent kindness and compassion within law enforcement as they continue to serve, not just as enforcers of the law, but as pillars of support for those in need within their communities.
