From the opening minutes, La Trinidad 1 emerged with a focused mindset, swiftly gaining an early advantage led by Jason Alvaran’s precision shooting, securing a 6-0 lead with two early treys.

Maintaining a consistent pace throughout the game, La Trinidad 1 managed to trail the visitors by no more than five points for the majority of the match, showcasing their resolve and tactical prowess.

The momentum swayed dramatically in the second half as Gerald Abella’s stellar play propelled La Trinidad 1 to a commanding 35-25 lead.

However, a relentless surge from Bokod, fueled by a 13-0 run, swiftly shifted the dynamics in favor of the visitors, allowing them to seize a narrow 37-35 lead with under three minutes remaining in the second quarter.

Yet, La Trinidad 1 responded emphatically, as Abella’s assertive drive leveled the score at 37 apiece just before halftime.

The teams battled fiercely, with Bokod taking a slim 44-42 lead into the break.

Reflecting on the game, Armando Pollante emphasized their need to refocus on defense, acknowledging a lapse in concentration during crucial moments.

“Defense did not work, sadly we focused on offense, but in the fourth (quarter) we got (our groove) back,” Armando Pollante said.

Pollante, a standout performer with 17 points, 18 rebounds, an assist, two steals, and two blocks, expressed determination to give their all in the upcoming games.

Coach Jong del Rosario highlighted the need for adjustments, acknowledging Bokod’s commendable adaptation during the match.

“Credits to the players, great adjustment by Bokod,” Coach del Rosario said.

The team’s strategy centered on containing key players like John Ric Buenaventura and Rey Gabino, but they anticipated further adjustments from the opponent.

Will Kean Lee, a notable contributor, showcased an all-around performance with 16 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and impressive defensive contributions, displaying his versatility on the court.

Clyde Habon and Jason Alvaran added crucial points to fortify La Trinidad 1’s offensive front.
