BAGUIO CITY – In a warmly aromatic event filled with delectable scents, Mang Inasal, the cherished Filipino Grill Expert, hosted a special meet-and-greet for members of the media as part of its 20th-anniversary celebration.

This event took place at the Mang Inasal branch on General Luna Road in Baguio City, marking a significant milestone for the iconic brand.

The event was graced by the presence of Mang Inasal’s PR Manager, Ed Timbungco, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the media and social media influencers for their unwavering support over the years.

He stressed the importance of connecting with the people who have been instrumental in making Mang Inasal a household name.

Joining Mr. Timbungco was Assistant Digital and PR Manager, Dezza Alvarez, who shared that this visit to Baguio was the first stop in Northern Luzon as part of their anniversary celebration tour.

Their journey had previously brought them to Mega Manila, and they have plans to continue their visits, with upcoming stops in Southern Luzon, particularly the Bicol region, before heading to the Visayas and Mindanao areas.

Baguio, a city known for its cool climate and scenic landscapes, is home to over five Mang Inasal stores, each serving up the famous “Ihaw-Sarap” food and creating memorable “Unli-Saya” experiences for the local residents.

Mang Inasal, which was founded on December 12, 2003, in Iloilo City by Edgar “Injap” Sia II, has grown to become a beloved Filipino institution.

The name “Injap” is a portmanteau of “Intsik” (Filipino for Chinese) and “Japanese,” reflecting his heritage as the son of a Chinese father and a Japanese mother.

Beyond its flavorful Chicken Inasal, Mang Inasal revolutionized the dining experience by being the first to offer unlimited rice, a move that won the hearts of Filipinos.

Over the years, the brand has received numerous accolades as a rapidly growing local food company, an exceptional quick-service restaurant (QSR), and a stellar Filipino franchise.

In April 2016, Mang Inasal became part of the Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) family, maintaining the same high standards of Food, Service, and Cleanliness that all JFC brands are known for.

Today, Mang Inasal operates over 570 stores nationwide, with 97% of them being franchised.

This dedication to excellence has propelled Mang Inasal to claim the fourth spot among QSRs in the Philippines and establish itself as the go-to destination for inasal delights in Manila, according to Southeast Asia’s leading travel inspiration platform, TripZilla.

In line with its commitment to providing “Unli-Saya” to its customers, Mang Inasal has also ramped up its social media presence.

In 2022, they launched “Mang Inasal Nation,” the first restaurant-managed social community, which boasts over 100,000 members.

This exclusive Facebook Group has brought the brand closer to its customers, creating a unique platform for interaction.

With its legendary 2-in-1 sa Laki, Tagos ang Ihaw-Sarap Chicken Inasal, Pork Barbecue, Extra Creamy Halo-Halo, and Palabok, Mang Inasal continues to delight its growing customer base whether they dine in, take out, or opt for delivery.

As Mang Inasal embarks on its next 20 years, it remains committed to upholding its tradition of excellence, ensuring that customers can savor the best “Ihaw-Sarap” food and enjoy “Unli-Saya” wherever and however they choose to relish it.
