Marron, served as guest speakers during a school symposium held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Montessori in Camdas Subdivision, Baguio City.

The event, held in observance of National Crime Prevention Week from September 1 to 7, aimed to raise awareness and promote crime prevention among the students of the school while fostering stronger police-community relations.

The theme for this year’s observance, “Addressing Crime and Advancing Crime Prevention at the Local, National, and Global Levels,” underscores the importance of community involvement in crime prevention efforts.

Ms. Editha Semilla-Puddoc, the Regional Director of the National Police Commission-Cordillera, and Ms. Dona Digna S. Rosario, the Directress of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Montessori, were also present at the symposium.

During the symposium, PLTCOL Lacuata conducted a comprehensive lecture titled “Navigating Physical Injuries: From Causes to Recovery and Prevention.”

Her presentation aimed to educate students about the causes, recovery, and prevention of physical injuries, empowering them with knowledge to stay safe and avoid accidents.

PMAJ Marron, on the other hand, discussed critical topics related to sexual assault in her presentation titled “Confronting Sexual Assault: Unveiling the Reality of Rape.”

Her talk shed light on the sensitive issue of sexual assault and provided valuable information to help students recognize, prevent, and address such incidents.

The presence of these distinguished speakers underscored the commitment of law enforcement agencies to engage with local communities, especially the youth, to create safer environments and prevent crimes.

Events like the symposium held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Montessori provide a platform for young minds to acquire knowledge and actively engage, ultimately playing a crucial role in fostering a safer and more enlightened society.
