PROCOR’s weeklong anti-illegal drug ops yield over P40M illegal drugs; 17 drug personalities nabbed
CAMP BADO DANGWA — The Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) has seized a total of Php40,646,728.00 worth of illegal drugs and nabbed 17 drug personalities, including 11 High Value Individuals (HVI), in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted from August 13–19, 2023, region-wide.
Citing records from the PRO Cordillera Regional Operations Division (ROD), the 17 drug personalities were arrested after they were caught in possession of a total of 10.69 grams of shabu, with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php135,728.00.
The same report disclosed that eight (8) arrests were made by the operatives of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), followed by Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) with four (4) arrests, Abra PPO and Benguet PPO with two (2) arrests each, and the Mt. Province PPO with one (1).
The suspects were identified as Pierre Miles Meepegama, 24, Exel Baro, 43, Juvina Baro, 49, Ryan Carino, 41, Rolly Alban, 42, Mateo Tolingan, 42, Crisanto Vega, 45, Sharon Grace Espita, 47, Greg Espita, 43, Annabelle Omawas, 50, Jovan Pugong, 48, Alvin Orbase, 28, Ronald Quinto, 31, Virgilio Rosadino, 53, Thaike Francisco, 29 and two female minors.
All arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to their respective arresting units, while charges for violating R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is being prepared against them.
Meanwhile, in separate marijuana eradication operations, 21 clandestine marijuana plantation sites with a total of 163,425 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP), 650 Marijuana Seedlings, 50,000 Dried Marijuana Leaves and Fruiting Tops, and 15,000 Marijuana stalks with an overall SDP of Php40,511,000.00 were discovered in the provinces of Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mt. Province.
These were all burned by operatives after documentation, and follow-up operations are being conducted to identify possible marijuana cultivators.
Also, police officers are continuously conducting barangay visitation and information operations regarding the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the PNP.
