BAGUIO CITYA shoplifting incident occurred yesterday, July 5, 2023, at approximately 2:54 pm inside Ongkoleyt, a local establishment in the city located on Bonifacio Street.

Mark Fuentes Erquiza, the branch manager of Ongkoleyt, reported the incident to the authorities.

The suspect involved in the incident has been identified as Brenda Baguilod Condat, a 42-year-old resident of Purok 4, Pinsao Pilot Project, Baguio City.

According to the complainant’s statement, Condat entered Annyeong Minimart and Food Court, where she began selecting various items from the store shelves.

Salvador Tapeseria Canoza Jr., the store manager of Annyeong Minimart and Food Court, recognized Condat as the same individual seen on their CCTV footage during two previous instances.

In those incidents, Condat allegedly sneaked bottles of coffee without making any payment.

Observing Condat’s presence in his store once again, Canoza Jr. confronted her, reminding her of her past actions.

During their conversation, Canoza Jr. noticed a red ecobag in Condat’s possession.

Suspecting foul play, Canoza Jr. promptly contacted the police.

Upon their arrival, the authorities requested Condat to reveal the contents of her bag.

She complied and produced fifteen (15) bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolates.

Canoza Jr. immediately informed Erquiza, the complainant, about the discovered items.

Erquiza proceeded to cross-reference the recovered chocolates with their CCTV footage and conducted an inventory of their stock, confirming that fifteen bars of chocolate were indeed missing.

Erquiza identified the recovered chocolates as their stolen inventory.

Upon further examination of the footage, Erquiza observed Condat taking the chocolate bars without making any purchase before leaving the premises.

The recovered Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolates had a total value of PHP1,800.00.

Following the incident, the suspect was apprehended and taken to the Baguio City Police Office Station 7 for investigation.

Authorities are preparing the necessary documents for inquest proceedings to address the case accordingly.
