CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – PRO Cordillera Regional Director David K. Peredo, Jr. led the ceremonial turn-over of eight units of Starlink Roam kits to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15) and selected Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFCs) held at the Masigasig Grandstand, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on May 23, 2024.
As part of the program, the Regional Pastoral Officer, PMAJ (Rev. Fr.) Alexander V. Pardo blessed the newly procured Starlink Roam kits, followed by the ceremonial turn-over spearheaded by PBGEN Peredo, Jr. assisted by the Deputy Regional Director for Administration, PBGEN Patrick Joseph G. Allan; the Deputy Regional Director for Operations, PCOL Elmer E. Ragay; and the Chief Regional Staff, PCOL Julio S. Lizardo, of the eight kits procured, five were given to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 and one each to the 2nd Abra PMFC, the 2nd Apayao PMFC, and the 2nd Kalinga PMFC.
As the internet is used to communicate across large and small distances by the Mobile Forces of PRO Cordillera, especially when sending and receiving valuable information, the Starlink kits will be able to provide satellite-based internet connectivity even to disadvantaged areas.
In his message, the Regional Director expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in making the initiative a reality and lauded their efforts in finding a way for law enforcement to join the current trend of the internet.
“With these Starlink Roam kits, our Mobile Forces will be able to maintain constant communication, coordinate more effectively, and respond swiftly to any situation,” the director said.
