BAGUIO CITY — City officials recently approved modifications to the 2024 medical assistance program for indigent patients, as outlined in the memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the city government and Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC).
These changes, based on the latest market survey conducted by BGHMC, adjust the program’s appropriations to reflect updated prices and quantities.
Under Resolution No. 499, series of 2024, the BGHMC for the year 2024 has received the amount of PhP20.4 million from the city government of which the specific amount of PhP11.7 million was appropriated for the purchase of various equipment.
However, the programmed items were based on the price references available in 2023.
Earlier, the council passed Resolution No. 173, series of 2024 tasking the City Mayor as representing the local government to enter into a MOA with the BGHMC for the implementation of the medical assistance city aid program for indigent patients in the city for the year 2024.
In a letter dated July 29, 2024, City Legal Officer Althea Rosana Alberto forwarded a request from Dr. Larry C. Haya, Jr., BGHMC officer-in-charge, seeking approval to modify the MOA signed on April 16, 2024.
The request includes adjustments in the quantities of medical equipment—such as 20 cardiac monitors, 2 ECG machines, 10 syringe pumps, 24 suction machines, and 10 infusion pumps—based on the latest market survey and price calculations.
Copies of the approved resolution will be sent to BGHMC for their information, guidance, reference, and any necessary further action.
