BAGUIO CITY — Around 110 organizations across North Luzon staged coordinated Bonifacio Day protests on Sunday, condemning alleged large-scale corruption in flood-control and other government infrastructure projects.

In Baguio City, teachers, students, artists, jeepney drivers, senior citizens, and environmental groups marched from the Baguio Convention Center to Burnham Park before holding a program calling for stronger government accountability.

Protest leaders said irregularities in infrastructure spending have contributed to worsening flooding in vulnerable communities, urging authorities to investigate and release findings to the public.

Groups also highlighted environmental degradation, displacement linked to development projects, and broader human rights concerns they claim have been overlooked by national agencies.

Organizers said the mobilization, dubbed “Baha sa Burnham,” aimed to push for transparent governance and long-term protections for communities affected by public works projects.

Police reported no major incidents during the protest.
